Jama by Make Calcutta Relevant Again

Who We Are

Jama is a collective born on the streets of Calcutta — a city that has always worn its culture on its sleeve. We are a streetwear label built at the intersection of art, identity, and the unapologetic spirit of this city. Our name, Jama (জামা), simply means "clothing" in Bengali — because we believe great clothes don't need complicated explanations.

Our Vision

To uplift the artists, designers, and creative minds of Calcutta through meaningful collaboration and genuine support. We believe that the next great wave of global streetwear will rise from the lanes of North Calcutta, the studios of Shyambazar, and the ateliers hidden behind crumbling colonial facades.

Jama exists to give those voices a canvas — and a platform.

Our Mission

We collaborate with local artists, illustrators, and independent designers to create limited-edition collections that are rooted in Bengali culture yet speak a global language. Every piece we release tells a story — of the city, its people, and the creative energy that refuses to be contained.

We are committed to fair collaboration, transparent sourcing, and building a community where Calcutta's creative economy thrives. When you wear Jama, you wear a piece of this city's soul.

Our Collections

Jama × Project Lizard Skin — Gritty textures, raw aesthetics, street-born graphics from the underground art scene of Calcutta.

Jama × Ecole Intuit Lab Kolkata — A collaboration with nine designers from one of India's most respected design schools. Nine perspectives. One city.

Bengali Printed T-Shirts — Language as identity. Bengali script as statement. Worn by those who belong to this city and those who wish they did.

Make Calcutta Relevant Again

The name says it all. Calcutta has always been relevant — to those who live here, breathe here, and create here. Jama is our way of saying that loud, clear, and in style.

Three collections. One city. Wear the streets.
